Optical signal transmission is handled by an 850nm VCSEL laser combined with a sensitive PIN photodetector on the receive side.

This 1.25 g sfp module achieves a data rate of 1.25 Gbps and is fully compatible with Gigabit Ethernet and Gigabit Fibre Channel standards, including IEEE 802.3z.

Reach is 500 meters over OM2/OM3/OM4 fiber, 50µm, or 300 meters over OM1, 62.5µm. The DDMI functionality is internally calibrated, so no external measurement equipment is needed for diagnostics.

Power is supplied via a single 3.3V connection, 240 mA typical, and the module complies with FC-PI v2.0 and G.959.1.
