Technical features

On the copper side, the converter works with the 1000BASE-T, 2.5GBASE-T, 5GBASE-T and 10GBASE-T standards, and on the fiber side with 1000BASE-X, 2500BASE-X, 5GBASE-R and 10GBASE-R.

Which cable you need on the copper side depends on the speed: Cat5 (up to 100 m) for 1G, Cat5e (up to 50 m) for 2.5G and 5G, and Cat6a (up to 50 m) for the full 10G. On the fiber side, the path is decided by the SFP+ module you place in the slot.

The unit supports hot plugging, runs on an external 12 V DC adaptor with a maximum consumption of 5 W, and works reliably between 0 and +55 °C. LEDs clearly indicate power and network activity.
